I usually don't have any good stories so this is kind of fun!What ... no power!
Shortly after I arrived to work this morning the power went out. And no ... not just the room, or building, or campus, but I think a few city blocks as well! Who knows, maybe half the town! Crazy! Luckily we have a fatty UPS had enough juice to keep our servers up for 30min! After about 10 minutes I figured I should shutdown the servers rather than having the power fail. Of course, once I shut them all down the power came back up! DOH! That means I have to stay and work! ;-) Maybe everyone should think about getting a OLPC laptop with the power crank!

I'm what some would call a "tweeker" when it comes to computers. I always have to play with settings of various programs, websites, etc to pick exactly what I wanted. Well this time it kind of bit me in the butt ...
Lately I've been thinking "man, maybe no one stops by this site" because I didn't see any comments ... which I'd be interested to see the hit count and compare those against my IP! Anyway, when I setup this blog I choice to "Approve Comments" and kind of forgot about it. At the time I was thinking I didn't want people to spam the comments section ... good idea, right?!? Last night I was checking out the blogger homepage to create a few blog ideas and noticed "2 Comments Waiting for Approval!" DOH! Three things, I didn't realize where I'd see this, I wasn't really looking for it, because I forgot I put that setting there! Needless to say I had 2 people comment so far! THANKS!!!! :) BTW, I've changed commenting to be a little easier now.

That would also explain why www.uni.edu was down at approximately 8:30 this morning...
